Creating a Portfolio in InDesgin

We will learn to create collections of our images in Adobe BRIDGE. From there we will begin the assembly of  our images into Adobe InDesign.

Pick a theme for Next week from the following list

Pick a color of the week 

Take 10 images using one color.

Everyone should pick a different color and we shall make a 10 page book with 10 different colors toward the end of class. Try to make color the focal point of each image. Watch out for distracting colors or patterns in the background that may distract from the color you are trying to make your focal point. Move in Close! Good Luck

WEEK 3 — Making the most of Natural light

Paying more attention to light is perhaps the single most important step you can take to improve your photography. With many landscapes, having good natural lighting can even be more important than the choice of subject itself. Different types of natural light can also produce a wide variety of subject appearances — even though these all have the same light source. Learn how to achieve the right light for your subject by utilizing the unique qualities of your particular time of day and weather.

Three factors influence how natural light renders a subject: time of day, camera direction and weather. We'll first explore time of day under clear skies, then move onto specific weather conditions.

Flash lighting techniques

it's nice in a pinch to be able to photograph a subject at night or in a darkroom. However, the qualityof light is harsh and  often  unflattering

Description-
Apply what you learned about shutters peed and Aperture and now practice a visualization exercise with your camera in hand. Try to find letters in your surrounding. Use the architecture, nature, gardens, fences, car parts, get close, get far away to change your vantage point and see how many letters you can find.

Week 2- Discuss White Balance and Color Tempurature.

Computer Lab

Upload alphabet photos onto your desktops.

1. Create folders on your desktop

ALWAYS SAVE BACKUP WORK ON YOUR OWN DEVICE!
     2. Discuss and demonstrate the use of clipping masks in photoshop.

Outdoor Exercise: Color temperature 

We will discuss the various color tempurature settings on your camera. Then we will go into various lighting conditions to see how they can be used.

  Homework: Review sheet about Aperture and Shutter speed and ISO.
